SWING! SWING! SWING!

Rhythm Capital is Canberra’s hottest swing band featuring jazz from the 20’s, 30s and 40s and beyond. Band leader and reeds player, Justin Buckingham, has assembled what he calls the Capital’s “swingingest” musicians playing standards from the greats such as Louis Armstrong, Artie Shaw, Chick Webb, Count Basie, to name a few.

Aiming for lots more energy and lots more swing, Justin has expanded his usual band to a 7-piece and this new combo is playing to rave reviews wherever they play. Rhythm Capital is a crowd favourite at ‘Jazz at Jamison’, hugely popular with both dancers and those simply happy to sit back and tap their toes to the wonderful rhythm of ‘swing’.

So, back by popular demand, Rhythm Capital will feature Justin Buckingham on sax, clarinet and vocals, Matt Sweeney on trumpet, Valdis Thomann on trombone, Lachlan Coventry on guitar, Matt Dennett on piano, Phil Dick on bass and Steve Richards on drums.
